This is a sign I made last year. This sign is made from pink foam, Christmas lights, and tin foil.
Here is a short run down. If you cant figure this out then you don't need to be building your own Halloween props. hehe
4 pieces of 1/2 inch thick pink foam. All cut in the same pattern.
Take 2 pieces of the cut out foam and cut out the inner area leaving the outer boarder about 2 inches think all the way around.
Take the front piece and carve out what you want it to say. You can use a hot wire cutter, a soldering iron, or a razor blade.
I drew with a sharpie where I wanted the letters then, I used a soldering iron to cut out the letters. Then paint with a
bright color inside the letters so it shows up better.
Ok use spray adhesive to attach the back layer and the 2 inner pieces of foam together. Don't put the front piece on yet.
Spray the inside of foam with adhesive and lay down cooking tin foil inside the back foam pieces. This is a reflective layer
so when the lights light up it will reflect the light all over.
Ok take Christmas lights, I recommend all white running lights. These are lights that have pre programmed sequence.
Ok so string the lights all over the tin foil, it does not matter where you put them. You can use spray adhesive to hold them in
place or staples or hot glue, just about anything.
Ok now run the power plug in out the back.
Now take the top layer of foam and glue to the top of the foam.
You can paint the whole block with gray latex house paint then splatter black and white speckles all over it to make it look like
stone.
Once dry, about 3 hours later, plug it in and be amazed. hehe
I wish I had taken pictures of this project when I made it to show better detail.
I might have to make another one and if I do I will take pictures of the process.
